Matt Coffel's father, Herm, was a speculative homebuilder. Matt remembers being a "nail bender" at his father's job sites as early as three years old. Matt quickly learned through his father that quality and customer service are key components to being a successful builder. Matt's father is a great inspiration to him. With his wife, Jennifer, Matt has made a career of building since 1992.
It's not uncommon to find Jennifer or the children at a job site lending a hand.
Jennifer handles the office work but will get to the job sites as needed. Painting, picking up the sites, and final cleaning are a few items you may catch her doing. The childrens activities keep her occupied, as well as volunteering in the community.
Their oldest son, Austin, enjoys the finish work aspect of building. Trim and wood flooring installation are his favorites. He works mostly in the summers, as the school year keeps him busy with sports.
The middle son, Caleb, has a great love for tractors. You would find him moving dirt, installing window wells, mowing, and possibly plowing snow. Caleb would like to make this a full time job, but he is reminded that school functions come first.
Finally, the youngest and only girl, Madison. She's a little young to have a favorite project, but she is a great help when it comes to picking up and even cleaning. Could managing the sites be in her future? She is awfully good at giving orders!
Matt and Jennifer believe in giving back to the community and participate avidly in many areas. He is currently a board member of the National Home Builders Association of Kosciusko/Fulton County. Matt served as commissioner of the Marshall County Junior Football League from 2004 to2008. He currently coaches 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade Bremen Junior Football.
Jennifer's volunteering includes The Bremen Bible Release program, bus helper and team mom for each childs sports.
Participating in the Warsaw Parade of Homes in 2004, 2005 Spring Parade of Homes, and being chosen to build a Timberframe home are some highlights of Matt’s Career.
Matt's long-term goal is to build 50 to 100 homes per year, become a developer, and establish his own real estate company. With his wife, Jennifer, working with him, these goals are well within reach.
