The Park Department Superintendent is Larry Kipfer. The Park and Recreation Board has six members including, Larry Kipfer, Brian Aschenbrenner, Rick Graverson, Kim Bilinski, Trend Weldy and Greg Miller.

Bremen has three major park facilities of over 100 acres and is administered by a 6 member Park Board.

Sunnyside Park: Located on Bremen’s South East side is the largest park. Sunnyside features the community swimming pool with a large pool, a kiddy’s pool, swimming lessons and open swim.

Six lighted diamonds includes 2 little leagues, 1 pony league and 1 T-ball along with 1 fast pitch, slow pitch and a girls fast pitch diamond.

Eight lighted tennis courts and 6 horseshoe pits also lighted. Filling out the very popular park are 2 sand volleyball courts, 4 soccer fields and a little league football field.

Winter sports include an ice rink and a man made sledding hill.

Sunnyside Park also includes a Community Room and several shelters for reunions and various activities. These shelters are usually rented a year in advance. Thee are also 3 small open shelters that are available on a first come bases.

There is over a mile of walking paths winding through the park and encompasses a wetland that is in progress of being developed into a nature area.

The crown jewel of Sunnyside is Jane’s Park, a children’s play ground built entirely by volunteers and donations in honor of Jane Sieg-Stillson.

Shadyside Park: Shadyside Park, nestled along the Armey Ditch, is a quieter park. It has a large open pavilion with picnic tables that can be rented for reunions. Horseshoe pits, basketball court, volleyball court and a children’s playground round out this small-secluded park.

Shumaker Park: Shumaker Park is located on the West side of Bremen. Shumaker Park features a children’s play ground, picnic area large open areas for activities and a Senior Citizen Building known as the Pines.
